Let's have some fun at the Rodeo!
The club's floating event is the annual tractor "Rodeo" (check the Events page for dates and location). This event tests operator skills and tractor/operator relationships. All participants meet in an open field to take part in contests and games that try their skills in operating a two-cylinder tractor.
Some of the games for this event include:
- The Slow Race tests the operator's ability to drive as slow as possible without stalling the tractor (this race is divided into divisions based on the model of tractor being driven).
- The Blind Race tests the operator's ability to drive in a straight line, for approximately 50 feet, across a bumpy field with a paper bag over his/her head.
- The Deere Pole challenges operators to drive twice around in a circle remaining an equal distance from the pivot point. Competing one at a time, each tractor is attached by a rope from the drawbar to the pole. The rope cannot touch the ground, and the pole cannot be tipped over without a penalty / disqualification.
