Expo III Thank You

By Tom Miller

For the recent New England John Deere Expo III, held on August 23 and 24 [2008], there were 145 tractors registered. I don't know the gate totals yet, but it was the largest crowd to date. Local TV and newspapers covered the event and several members’ pictures were in the paper. The articles all spoke of the turnout and the great time that people had.

Certainly the tractor games and the kids’ tractor pull were highlights of the weekend. The seminars were a real hit, too. We had a speaker from Jorde Decals and that was a terrific draw.

At this year’s Expo the model A was the most common tractor, and the rarest tractors were an AI, a 1922 Waterloo Boy, and a model P. We appreciate the effort of all those who brought their tractors out for the show. Including those who traveled the farthest, coming from Alaska, Montana, and Florida.

The general feeling from everyone was that it was a fantastic event and we are looking forward to 2010. I personally would like to thank the Expo committee for their dedication and hard work! I appreciated all the volunteers who stepped up when asked or just gave me a call to let me know that they'd like to join in. It made the Expo a true club event.

We would like to thank the many people - members and non-members who helped, including: Barney Sherwin, Mary Sherwin, Shirley Emerson, Hale and Dianne Matoon, Duffy and Leila McDanolds, Morty and Kathy Bailey, Jack, Travis, and Stan Clark, Melinda York, Jeryl Frankenfield, Nate and Erin Carey, Liv and Ira Allen, Skip Hanson, Ralph Reed, Margaret Clark, Jane and John Severance, Ginny Cloutier, Roger Cloutier, Craig Heafield, Mike Connelly, Gary Phelps, Joyce and Marshall Hubbard, George Hurlburt, Dan Madden, Cheston Newbold, Dale Smith, Jeff and Carroll Spaulding, Dana Ramspott, and many more!

Thank You Tom!!

Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
